Goodwill

Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska, Inc. is a locally operated non-profit with a local CEO and Board of Directors.  We are dedicated to helping people with disabilities or barriers reach their goals and improve their quality of life.  Goodwill serves 55 counties across rural Nebraska.  Last year, Goodwill provided services to over 2,000 people living with disabilities and barriers across greater Nebraska.  Goodwill served 79 Lexington individuals in 2022.   

Services offered to the Lexington community include:

-Supported Employment assists individuals with a disability or barriers to be successfully employed in the community in a career that matches their skills and interests.   Employment Specialists work closely with hiring managers and job seekers in job matching and providing ongoing support and strategies to overcome barriers.  

-Comprehensive Benefits Planning services assist individuals in understanding how their Social Security Disability benefits will affect their cash or medical benefits and accessing work incentives to keep those benefits.  Goodwill is also a Ticket to Work provider and can assist individuals who are interested in gaining self-sufficiency from their benefits.

-SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery (SOAR) assist individuals who are homeless and have a behavioral health diagnosis to access needed Social Security disability and health insurance benefits.

-Developmental Disability services are offered to individuals in Lexington by the Kearney day services team.  Individuals are provided transportation, day support, and community integration through person-centered planning.
