The City of Lexington is committed to improving the parks and trails continuously.

Donating to the Lexington Parks and Trails funds new and ongoing improvements to our beautiful outdoor recreation spaces that are open to anyone and everyone. Below is a list of new facilities and upgrades made over the past few years. We love to see them used by so many people, but that and Mother Nature can wear out things. Just a few years ago strong winds damaged stadium lights at the ball fields at the Optimist Recreation Complex, and the Park and Trails Fund was there to help pay for new poles and lights.

Recent Completed Projects:

  • Lexington Racquet Center
  • New Patriot Park and Lake across from the Airport
  • Oak Park Splash Pad
  • Veterans Memorial Pavilion and Amphitheater in Kirkpatrick Memorial Park
  • Golf Driving Range (Optimist Recreation Complex)
  • New paved parking lot, on the north side of Plum Creek Park
  • New slide at the swimming pool
  • A new hike/bike trail north of the growing neighborhood in northwest Lexington
  • Two lake restoration projects that improve access, stabilize and prevent erosion, and improve aquatic life habitat
  • Handicap accessibility improvements

More improvements are planned! Help make this happen with your generous contribution to Lexington Parks and Trails Fund!
