Traffic Stop: Voices Against Human Trafficking
Traffic stop started with two friends, Stacey Cahill and Lisa Molina, writing a novel. Once the novel was published, they realized that their work was just beginning. They found that many people were unaware and blown away by the number of children being trafficked in and around Lexington.
This grassroots nonprofit is working towards educating the community by providing prevention techniques to help the public keep their children safer from sexual predators. To do this, Stacey and Lisa will be proving scholarships for businesses and individuals to participate in a sex-trafficking training session. A curriculum needs to be created or purchased to provide specialized, all-inclusive, education. Funds raised from Give BIG Lexington will be used to provide the scholarships to businesses and therapy for survivors.
Their work doesn't end there. Lexington has resources for crisis intervention and rescue efforts, but transitioning survivors into society is a task that Traffic Stop is also taking on. They will provide evidence-based support and therapy. Further funds will be utilized to integrate future survivors into our community.
